Just documenting my Ochna serrulata plant because it’s pretty rare around here and I don’t even know if you can buy it. Wikipedia says it’s known under following names: carnival ochna, bird’s eye bush, Mickey mouse plant.
The plan recently developed some buds and I’m curious to see if they turn into flowers or not. As with many tropical or subtropical plants it can be difficult to get them to flower in cold climates. Keeping the plants indoors during winter isn’t ideal so some might not flower or take a very long time to do so. I also noticed that with plants grown from seeds it very much depends on the individual. Some just flower more easily than others. Genetic variety I guess. Here are the photos:
